Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for Children

In short — We help parents and carers apply for DLA for a child under 16, and challenge a refusal, delay or reduction.

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is no longer available for adults or those over the age of 16. But if a child under 16 has a disability or health condition that means they need much more looking after than a child of the same age without a disability, or they have walking difficulties, you may be able to apply for DLA on their behalf.

We can help you with:

  • Understanding the criteria and eligibility for DLA
  • Applying for DLA and making sure the claim is submitted with the correct information
  • Challenging a decision if the claim is refused, delayed or reduced
