Deeds of Consent / Occupiers Consents / Waivers

In short — We advise occupiers on deeds of consent and waivers and execute the documents with them, so everyone understands their rights.

When you move to a new home, transfer ownership or take out a new mortgage or loan, you may have people aged 17 or over living with you who are not on the legal title. Your lender may ask you to obtain their signed consent that they will not claim any rights in the property in competition with the lender. These signed consents are often called deeds of consent, occupiers consents or occupiers waivers.

We can help you with:

  • Advising occupiers aged 17 or over on what they are being asked to sign
  • Explaining the documents so each person understands their legal rights
  • Executing (signing) the documents with the occupiers
  • Meeting your lender’s requirements for a mortgage, loan or transfer
